Did we learn anything from the "Undemic of 2009"?

The Council of Europe member states are to launch an inquiry in January 2010 on the influence of the pharmaceutical companies on the global swine flu campaign, focusing especially on extent of the pharmaceutical industry’s influence on the W.H.O., according to reports in the German media.

Wolfgang Wodarg, former SPD Member of Parliament, and chairman of the European parliament’s health committee, initiated the inquiry. The motion was passed unanimously by his colleagues in the European parliament‘s health committee.

Wodarg has criticized the measures taken against the swine flu as “one of the biggest medical scandals of the century”.
He said the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on scientists and government officials has resulted in “millions of healthy people being exposed unnecessarily to the risks of an inadequately tested vaccine”.

That even though, the swine flu virus is “much less harmful“ than last year’s seasonal flu causing “not even a tenth of the usual deaths associated with flu.“
Wodarg has also criticized the way pharmaceutical companies have made gigantic profits at the expense of tax payers.
He accused vaccine manufacturers of being willing even to inflict bodily harm“ in their pursuit of profits, noting that the adjuvants in the swine flu vaccine have hardly been tested.

In addition, the vaccine‘s side effects including dangerous paralysis have not been adequately recorded.

Wodarg has said that the role of the WHO and its pandemic emergency declaration in June needs to be the special focus of a European parliamentary inquiry. For the first time, the criterion for a pandemic was made not by the actual risk of a disease but by the number of cases of the disease.
By classifying the swine flu as pandemic, nations were compelled to implement pandemic plans and also the purchase swine flu vaccines.
Because WHO is not subject to any parliamentary control, Wodarg argued it is necessary for governments to insist on accountability.

What is a pandemic should not be allowed to be defined by an organization that is clearly under the influence of the pharmaceutical companies that profit from the sales of vaccines accompanying such a pandemic. Many of the decision-makers in WHO have worked for the pharma industry and go back to work in the pharma industry.

The inquiry is also to look at the role of the Paul-Ehrlich and the Robert-Koch Institute in Germany.

Quote from article: “An independent meta-analysis of vaccines against influenza has found that claims of benefit have been significantly exaggerated.
The report, released last month by the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, was based on a comprehensive review of data published from 1967 to 2012”

2019 Narcolepsy suffered by European young people after taking the vaccine called “Pandemrix” (pandemic flu shot from 2009 that was rushed to the market). Just one of many lawsuits https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/narcolepsy-case-state-faces-4m-bill-after-vaccine-settlement-1.4088687 Quote from the article:”There may be as many as 100 people in Ireland who believe they have developed the incurable, life-altering condition of narcolepsy as a result of the vaccination they received as part of Ireland’s response to the 2009 global swine flu pandemic. The number of such cases across Europe is said to be in excess of 1,000.

  1. I really know nothing about it, but I had the impression that the WHO was kind of a friendly type organization. I guess I thought so because their standards about birth, homebirth and breastfeeding are much more woman and child friendly than most medical societies in the western world. it would suprise me to learn that the WHO is heavily under the influence of drug companies, and it would worry me to put it more under the control of governments as suggested.

again, I absolutely am totally ignorant about the origins or purposes of the WHO, but that’s my impression.

  2. A lot of us in the childbirth movement have the same impression as you, Amy. The W.H.O. has been the leader in pointing out the horrors of big companies like Nestle selling infant imitation milk. They also have spoken up on behalf of midwifery in the past. Marsden Wagner once worked for W. H. O. and he did brilliant work to improve the health of mothers and babies.

Unfortunately, the W.H.O. now has leadership that seems to be easily influenced by the pharmaceutical cos. and the woman who heads it up right now seemed absolutely inflexible in her zeal to declare a pandemic of swine flu despite the fact that many epidemiologists warned her that it was a premature call.

  3. The swine flu pandemic has started on May 1, 2009 when Roy Anderson was interviewed on the BBC´s Today programme…He was a member of a group set up to give scientific advice (British government)relating to swine flu.Roy Anderson has mathematically modelled the spread of new variant Creutzfeld-Jakob disease(v CJD),published in Nature(406,583-584;10 August 2000).There his team showed that the current mortality data are consistent with between 63 and 136,000 cases…However, far fewer people are carrying the vCJD than previously feared. WHY? Because in Britain, much of the alarmism about Mad Cow disease was never justified scientifically. It was pure,math-model-driven science fiction. But it was pushed very vigorously by the British science establishment, which has never confessed to its errors!!!So this could be“more greatest medical scandal”… WHY?According to my opinion BSE (popularly called ‘mad cow disease’)is not an infectious disease(www.bse-expert.cz).See these relationships, according to my recent presentation at 29th World Veterinary Congress in Vancouver; Neurodegenerative Diseases and Schizophrenia as a Hyper or Hypofunction of the NMDA Receptors(www.bse-expert.cz/pdf/Veter_kongres.pdf).
